I know this is going to make a few contributors (and readers) very, very happy.
Movie Set has uncovered some 8mm behind the scenes footage shot by optical cameraman David Barry of his special effects team in action at the Van Nuys studio in 1976 in preparation for, you guessed it, Star Wars. Barry describes these as “Crude home movies from the 1970s depicting activities at a certain location in the San Fernando Valley” but I have a feeling fans will think them anything short of awesome. Heck, even I enjoyed watching the clips.
No embedding here but heck, the least you can do for the greatness is CLICK!

wow, you don’t need to be a Star Wars fanatic to appreciate this really cool behind the scenes footage.
That tie fighter blowing up was awesome!
That was awesome. Put a big smile on my face. Clearly just a bunch of kids taking their work seriously, but having an absolute blast putting it together. Magnificent find Marina. Cheers!
The music from Ivanhoe was pretty bad ass too.
In conclusion, fuck Annie Hall. Fuck her in her stupid ass.
