Now I know why Megan Fox always rubbed me the wrong way: she’s a demon!
From the mind of Diablo Cody and the lens of Karyn Kusama comes Jennifer’s Body, a tale of a hot cheerleader (Fox) who eats boys. Literally. Sadly for Needy (Amanda Seyfried), Jennifer plays both sides of the fence and Needy’s next. I’m sure there’s more to the story but that’s as much as I took from the trailer and I’m ready to see more.
I know. Shocking. I actually want to see a movie which features Megan Fox in the lead role. The world is about to freeze over.
In my defence, this looks like a whole lot of fun. Not as innovative and new as some are making it out to be but I like horror movies with a comedic bite and this one looks like it might hit the mark. Reminds me of Clueless via Raimi and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It may end up missing the mark (we all know there’s a fine line between teh horror and comedy and most writers and directors can’t walk it) but I’m willing to give this female heavy production some love.
Jennifer’s Body opens on September 18th.

Clueless via Raimi. I actually like that. With of course Ms. Cody penning the dialogue (possibly cringe-worthy).
I really, really enjoyed Girlfight and Aeon Flux (Yea, I loved Aeon Flux, sue me…)
And I get the wry comedy vibe on offer here (And I like Big Love / Veronica Mars’ Amanda Seyfried).
But nope. This looks awful with a capital AWFUL.
Everything I liked about Juno had nothing to do with Diablo Cody’s script. And while it is certainly fashionable to pick on Ms. Cody, I don’t think she has a long career ahead of her, more like a tattooed and cussing Nia Vardalos.
15 minutes are up ladies.
If you liked Teeth, this looks to definitely be in the same vein – with a little more money behind it. I’m interested.
“a tattooed and cussing Nia Vardalos.” And I don’t see too much wrong with that.
Teeth looked far more interesting then this film.
Agreed but that’s not to say that this doesn’t look like fun. At least I think it looks like fun.
Teeth looked awful once you gave it any more treatment than a very slow teaser.
I think based on this actual trailer it looks good, but I retain cynicism and a ‘show me’ attitude towards Cody’s writing.
Teeth was by no means great cinema, but as a midnight madness film with a crowd it played pretty well. A few beers and some laughs with friends. It was a good time.
