• Sunday Morning Clip: Blood Trail

I don’t recall an animated film ever being so bloody and icky… not even close. Beyond the visuals is the audio, which is pretty damn blood curdling if I do say so myself. Toronto After Dark Festival: 2010? Anybody?

    Nevermind, just watch this:

How did you find out about this, when is coming out, is this the only thing, is there going to be more, who made this, are they doing something else. . .

“Dave, you’re like a child who wanders into a theater and wants to know…”

Kidding aside, I no little about this. I know it is adapted from a book by Matt Cochrane (whoever the fuck that is) and according to IMDb is slated for a 2010 release. If it’s a comic book adaptation (which it very well could be), I’m sure Gamble can give you some insight.

Oh. And I found it at Collider. I think Quiet Earth published something about it as well.

  2. James says:

    That, was, amazing, ly disgusting.

  3. Beth M says:

No kidding! I couldn’t agree more.

  4. Matt Gamble says:

Dammit. Can anyone clean up my shoddy HTML?

So what I’ve gathered is that Matt Cochrane wrote a spec script and Perspective Studios hired Nathan Love to produce this trailer. The subtext, I believe, is to get word of mouth going on the Internet (good job R3) to generate potential finances. It’s kind of the way high concept indie films are getting funded these days, at least most recently. The last time I saw something like this that came from nowhere and made a giant ping on my radar was What’s in the Box.

A straight up gory animated horror film would rule and I hope this project gets fleshed out into a feature.
