It is no secret: I’m not a huge Tarantino fan. I despised Kill Bill, thought Death Proof was lame, and while I love it, think Pulp Fiction gets too much credit. Hell, when it comes to Tarantino films, on some days I think I prefer Jackie Brown to his rest, and if we’re going to talk about films that he dealt with in any way, True Romance trumps all in my eyes. Don’t even get me started on the man that is Tarantino himself either.

If you knew this about me, it probably comes to no surprise that I wasn’t really all that interested in Inglourious Basterds when I first heard about it. Of course, as the months passed, that has all changed and by the looks of this trailer, this might be a little less “Tarantino” (I think the fact that this has become a commonly used adjective could be part of my annoyance with him) than what we’re used to getting from him. Or maybe it is just a deceitful trailer. Regardless, it has me looking forward to it.

The movie opens August 21st, so keep your eyes and ears open.
