• 100 Best Movie Lines (?) in 200 Seconds

Call me nostalgic, but I love all the little film clip videos people put together – whether it’s the self-congratulatory ones shown at the Oscar ceremonies or the random ones that appear on the internet with increasing frequency. Just being reminded of so many films I love (and sometimes being encouraged to check out ones I haven’t seen) gives me a warm fuzzy.

This video from Liquid Generation purports to contain the 100 Best Movie lines, from all genres, in 200 seconds. It’s more than debatable that these are the best 100 movie lines of all time, but they hit enough high spots to keep me entertained. It’s also interesting to note films that I would’ve included, but with a different line – “what knockers” wouldn’t have been my first choice from Young Frankenstein, and #94 is Die Hard, I think – but why not “Yippee-ki-yi-yay, motherfucker”?

What do you think of their choices? What would you have picked instead? And do you find the background music exciting or annoying?

They definitely should have called it the 200 most ICONIC film lines, not “best”. Some of these are true bafflers.

Total Recall = “give these people air” Really? That’s one of the best 200 lines in sci history? There’re a bunch of these wtf in this video. Still, like you, I like watchingthese movie clip mash-ups. Kind of fun.

Yeah, some of them they obviously threw in because they wanted to include the movie, even though it didn’t have any individual great lines.

I also learned apparently I don’t know enough about comedy – I know what almost all the films are, but there are more in the comedy section I can’t place than in any of the other sections.
