Terry Gilliam Has A Death Wish
This man deserves serious props. Many other filmmakers would have given up if they had suffered through as many disastrous situations as Terry Gilliam has but he simply doesn’t give up.
Everyone remembers the spectacular disaster that was The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. That particular spectacle was captured on film in Lost in La Mancha and it was quite the tragic series of events that killed that production but Gilliam is so set on making a film about Quixote that he still hasn’t given up and according to CHUD, he’s moving full steam on attempt number two.
Though it’s nice to see someone want something so badly they’ll continue to pursue it, I’m worried that this movie is going to kill Gilliam. I’m actually surprised that making films hasn’t killed the guy yet. It seems that each of his productions comes with its own set of nightmares but he’s still forging ahead.
Also looks like Gilliam is hoping to get this show on the road sooner rather than later with hopes to get Johnny Depp in the saddle again to reprise his near-role.
I wish Gilliam all the best but I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

I’d love to see Gilliam’s Quixote and I wish him all the best but I seriously believe it simply wasn’t meant to be. With yeah, he should move on to the next thing!

Supposedly Good Omens isn’t dead either.

Though it’s come highly recommended a few times, I still haven’t read Good Omens. I know more than a handful of folks who would love to see a film version.

I do hope Gilliam gets to make Don Quixote this time, although I worry that he won’t. The production seems to have been cursed from the beginning.
