• Duncan Jones’ MOON Trailer is Spectacular

I was in a bit of a hurry to leave for the day when I saw a post about the Duncan Jones’ directed, Sam Rockwell starring Moon. And then the director had to go and say something about Clint Mansell and their celebration of the release of film’s trailer and that was it, I had to see it before I left. And after seeing it, I just had to post it.

Do yourself a favour and watch this trailer now. If it’s any indication, this movie is going to be fantastic. The only trap is whether or not it will rely too much on its Alien slash Hal 9000 aesthetic. But it is Rockwell that is clearly the selling point here. It’s now second my list of most anticipated films of 2009, right behind The Road.

Wow, that looks awesome. It got good reviews coming out of Sundance, too, especially for Rockwell’s performance.

  2. Matt Gamble says:

Watching this tomorrow. Hopefully it is like Ronin.

  3. Andrew James says:

Two words: holy shit that looks like the fuckin shiz-nit.

I’m taking Monday off so I don’t think I can convince my boss to let me off tomorrow to see this with Gamble. But I’m considering playing hookey.

I’ve so so so so so so so so so much wanted to see this.. but it will probably take years before I do. ;(

@Jonas. Supposedly there is a wide release of MOON coming the same weekend as Transformers 2. I wouldn’t argue that that is good counterprogramming, but obviously the smart kids will be in the the MOON screening on June 24.

  6. Matt Gamble says:

Seemingly intelligent people can make stupid decisions though Kurt. For example, the smart kids were watching Adventureland last weekend. Where were you again?

  7. Jonathan says:

It seems like I have been waiting for this movie forever – and in fact, I first wrote about this last February, so it has been well over a year now. I need this and this trailer looks awesome (even if it gave away what I assume is an important plot revelation).

  8. Matt Gamble says:

Its important, but it happens right at the conclusion of the 1st Act, so their is plenty of film left.

  9. Jonas says:

But the thing is I live in sweden.. the only chance I will get is probably on some film festival. But I’ll probably miss the festival I usually go to this year.

I’ll have to wait for the DVD.

    ;(

Moon is playing at the Copenhagen film festival in Denmark on April 20th. Any good to you Jonas?

  11. Jonas says:

Holy crap thats just next week. :S

Sadly I have to work.. ;( And copenhagen is atleast a days trip away.

    Thanks though!

I think I’ll have to investigate other swedish festivals. It’s pretty much just tradition to only go to the Stockholm film festival in november every year.
