I am pretty sure that if I had shown a picture of Jeff Goldbloom in a bright red cowboy shirt with big furry white chaps someone would have gotten yesterday’s shot which came from The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Today I was planning on continuing the science fiction theme unfortunately I grabbed a DVD off my shelf thinking it was a scifi flick. While walking to work I realized it is more of a fantasy movie. My only excuses are that I was rushed and that I never realized how few DVDs I own that are real scifi movies.

Mirrormask? Great movie!
Indeed, Mirrormask. I wouldn’t call MM a ‘great’ movie, but it is a very interesting one, which anticipates the much smoother and more emotionally engaging CORALINE. I also very much like Gina McKee and wish she would get more work.
I love the look of this one but it was around this point where I started realize that Gaiman is a good story teller but no where near the level that a lot of people I know say he is at. He has been relying on Alice in Wonderland too long. Now I will admit that I have only read Neverwhere so my opinion is based on his movies and not his written work.
