  5. I am extremely happy right now.

Our economies are so greatly intertwined and really do feel so much better about where we can go from here.

  6. Minnesota’s 6th district though, can eat my shit. Michelle Bachmann got rubber stamped for more McCarthyist bullshit.

  7. MN is funny that way. Republican house, Republican senate, Republican mayors and a Republican Governor. Yet without fail we vote for a democrat in the White House no matter what. It’s kind of weird actually.

  8. well, at least you didnt vote for a convicted felon like Alaska did.

Also middle fingers from me to Arkansas for banning gay… adoption. Gay adoption. Christ, still curbs to climb.

And Prop 8 in California is sad, that the breakdowns by race showed that so many minorities would vote to take others’ rights away, that weren’t hurting anyone, in a race funded by the Mormon church. Kind of hard to take ‘one man one woman’ amendments from freaking polygamists.

  9. also a middle finger last night to Nader for calling Obama an Uncle Tom. and wow, even with so many less voters he still managed to play a spoiler this year in a state (Missouri)

  10. btw, in order to get that proposition to ban gay adoption written, they also had to make it so unmarried couples couldn’t adopt either.

Unmarried couples in Arkansas… can’t adopt.

Sorry orphans, we had to stop The Gay!

  12. A movie related comment from Erik Childress (taken from comments section of Roger Ebert’s blog):

“Happened to catch the music played when McCain took the stage for his concession speech and then when he left?
Taking the stage – Days of Thunder
    Leaving it – Crimson Tide
One an anthem for red state NASCAR fans and the other from a film about an old school maverick who is stripped of his command by a younger black guy.
And Obama just ended his speech with music from Remember the Titans – the story of a team of white and black coming together and putting all their differences aside to win a championship.
God Bless the United States of America.
Maybe the candidates had a deal with Jerry Bruckheimer.”

FOX just threw her under the bus. Fox. Apparently she didn’t know Africa was a continent, who was in NAFTA, and threw temper tantrums all the time.
