• Brand New Poster for Pixar’s “Up”

Now churning out a new blockbuster about every 6 months or so, Pixar’s next “latest and greatest” film will be a 3-D animated adventure entitled Up.

Having not read too much about the storyline, apparently it’s a “new outlook on life” adventure for a 78 year-old man, brought about by a child. With voice acting from the likes of Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, John Ratzenberger and Jordan Nagai, I’m sure Pixar won’t be letting us down any time soon (see what I did there?).

At any rate, a new poster was released today and I think it’s quite eye-catching. I didn’t even notice until it was pointed out to me, but the basket at the base of the balloon is not a basket at all; but an entire house. Fun.

I remember the Wall-E marketing machine doing absolutely nothing (other than inspiring SHORT CIRCUIT comparisons) and yet the film was very, very good. While good marketing is hard to come by, I’m glad that with Pixar (in my mind) it seems be irrelevant as long as the films are good. At 9 straight blockbusters, (7 of them being pretty good films) I think they are about the closest thing to a sure-bet in the family entertainment department. Well, besides Studio Ghibli.
