I finally watched the one Newman film that I could never seem to get access to because it was never on DVD - Sometimes a Great Notion. Jesus, did it have one of the most devastating few minutes in any film I can think of ever. Wow.

Great film, if only to see Newman and Henry Fonda on screen together.

When they say "they don't make leading men like they used to", it certainly applies to NEWMAN! He was a great one.
My favorite Newman films were The Verdict, The Towering Inferno and Slapshot, plus countless others!

Newman was truly one of the greats. He had a knack for choosing good scripts. And it seemed as if he could play nearly anything. He made so many of my favourite movies and played so many of my favourite characters. I remember his small role in What a Way to Go, as one of Shirley Maclaine's husbands--Larry Flint, the artist who wanted to develop a device that paints by sound. He had a gift for playing eccentric characters.

One of the greatest ever. I sure do appreciate everything he did. Especially his red wine vinaigrette.
Seriously though, a humanitarian in every sense of the word.
