Bilson

Rachel BilsonLast December, Marina and I put up our annual, tabloid-esque shallow post of the year with our top ten hotties list. Relative new-comer, Rachel Bilson just made it on the list at #8 and I remember mentioning that without some more film cred, she could easily slip right off the list. There was even some commentary and an email or two with confusion as to who she even is. Last spring’s Jumper didn’t exactly help her any, but I’m still a big fan of her and Zach Braff in The Last Kiss and if Paris Je’Taime was any indication, I’m going to be totally enamored with New York, I Love You this fall; in which Bilson plays a part in one of the many segments.

And as it now turns out, Bilson has also just been called upon to play a young TV actress whose boyfriend is content to quit his job forever to just be with Bilson’s characer in Waiting for Forever. Not very exciting news I know, but I like this young lady and I think she’s got some talent if properl nourished. Therefore I felt I should at least mention that Bilson’s career (for those unfamiliar) doesn’t seem to be dwindling after her stint on television’s “The O.C.” Instead, it seems to be gaining some momentum.

Young James Keach (yes, Stacey Keach’s son) will be making his sophomore directing effort here and it remains to be seen what kind of film this will turn out to be. Just going by the IMDb profile, Keach has done a bunch of TV but only one movie that frankly, looks like it was a direct-to-DVD, teenage drivel thing. Still, aside from Jumper, Bilson seems to make pleasantly intelligent choices with which roles she chooses.

If nothing else, this is all a good excuse for me to Google Bilson to find a picture to post up top.

I second that.. Forget the blondes, it's all about the brunettes baby.

I saw the work in progress cut of "New York, I Love You" at TIFF…Though Bilson doesn't have much to do in her short segment, she was downright awful. Avert your eyes bad.

Hopefully that's just a blip though. I've heard good things about other performances and haven't seen "Last Kiss" (it's on my list) or "Jumper" (I took that off my list).

Agreed that Jacinda Barrett was the best thing about "The Last Kiss" and I like Bilson. She comes across as a charming character and she's likable on screen – reminds me a whole lot of Mila Kunis.

It's about time someone realized that the blondes have nothing on us brunettes.

Bilson was good on the "OC" and in "The Last Kiss". Its always good to see new interesting talent on screen instead of producers who give parts to Jessica Alba's of the world. She adds very little to any part she's cast in. If she wants to do a FHM magazine cover Im all for it, but I don't care to see Alba in a movie. Bilson on the other hand, Im all for it!

I'm surprised Alba let her career go down the "I just look good" route. She showed an inkling of talent with her first few roles (and I thought she was flat but perfect in Dark Angel) but that seems to have completely disappeared. I'm with you EDAB, I'd rather see Bilson on screen.

And what ever happened to Donna from That 70s Show? I thought she'd go places but haven't seen her in anything (TV or otherwise) since that show went off the air.

Actually Marina- Donna on that 70's show played by actress Laura Prepon was the star of ABC's October Road, which was canceled after last season because of low ratings. She was very good on it. I actually liked the show very much as it captured the small town feel quite well!

Ahhh. It's good to see she's still around. I really like her small town girl appeal.
