• Movie Speeches: Team Work

Major SPOILER ALERT here. If you have not seen Deep Blue Sea, it’s probably best not to watch the following clip. However, it might be one of the best WTF moments in cinema history. We have Sam The Man giving quite the inspirational speech to bring “the troops” together and overcome nature’s wrath/threat; because only man has the superior intellect and ability to work together to defeat nature’s harshest enemies. I’m pretty sure no one saw this one coming. Apparently “walking the earth like Caine in Kung Fu” didn’t pan out too well…

It’s a shame to see Tom Jane’s talents wasted. I’ve never watched this movie, but I’ve seen that clip like 12 times.

In shark related news, here’s a couple awesome clips from another film I haven’t seen – Shark Attack III: Megalodon:

Thomas Jane has shown a bit of talent (primarily in The Myst) so it is kind of sad to see him going down the road of shitty movies.

And Deep Blue Sea isn’t great but it certainly has a few moments, especially this one when they kill off the only “big name” in the movie so early in. I certainly had the WTF moment Andrew’s talking about when I first saw it.

  3. I love Deep Blue Sea, it’s not a terribly good movie but is sure is entertaining.

  4. That is a great scene. I never understood some people who knock this type of film. There is a place for really fun throwaway B- films that are well done. These type of movies are a great watch on a rainy afternoon or late at night. Renny Harlin who directed this film has gotten a bad rap in Hollywood, as he has more talent behind the camera that 70% of the MTV hacks working in the business today. His Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger and Long Kiss Goodnight are really good movies in there genre. Unfortunately he’s fallen out of favor, and is currently directing an action film titled 12 Rounds starring a few WWE wrestlers for Vince McMahon’s production company! I like well done B action films and Renny Harlin is a talent!
