Fast and Furious (4) Trailer
I‘m not ashamed to admit it: I ♥ the crummy The Fast and the Furious franchise. Though for the life of me I don’t remember the second entry into the series, (that would be the one with Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson which was even shittier than I could deal with) the third entry was stupid fun – and I mean stupid. There was a very large group of us and we hooted, hollered and laughed uncontrollably (and rather surprisingly, no one booted us out) but nothing topped the greatness of the first. Bad acting: check; cheesy story: check; tacked-on love story: check; fast cars: check; chase sequences that make Michael Bay sweat: check.
Rather than cut their losses, someone figured that since Justin Lin’s version of the story was completely un-believable but outrageously entertaining, they’d give the franchise another installment and “New Model, Original Parts” is pretty much the best description for part four which is bringing back all the original players. Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and the king of the engine, Vin Diesel are all back for more racing adventures. This time around after being released from prison (prison? I missed something here), Brian O’Conner (Walker) teams up with Dominic Toretto (Diesel) to work with the feds to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.
In all seriousness, who the fuck cares about plot? I certainly don’t. Just give me sleek cars that go zoom, zoom, zoom. Oh yeah, and a return of the sick 1970 Dodge Charger. Bring. It. ON.
Fast and Furious opens June 5th.
Trailer is tucked under the seat!

Let’s meet up somewhere halfway and see this together. I’m sure everyone else will be laughing at us.

And seriously, the third one is pretty bad but the racing scenes are AWESOME. Plus is features some great Asian talent and a wicked soundtrack. Worth seeing with some buddies after a shitload of drinks.

I’ve seen all three and only the 1st one was watchable really. The 2nd one was stupid fun, I guess, but Tokyo Drift was just so bad. That’s the only thing that worries me – same director. I’m hoping he’s learned how to shoot a race scene without blatantly horrible CGI, and the trailer looks hopeful on that front.
But yeah, bring on the “old times”
