Movie Speeches: Always Be Closing

A new feature I’ve decided to start. Mostly because I love starting features here and then never following up. At any rate, I started thinking of great movie speeches/soliloquies and came up with several. Several good ones actually. So a great idea for a regular post.

Here’s one I know we’re pretty big fans of around here. Alec Baldwin kicks a lot of ass in The Departed, but not as much face melting, ass-kickery as he performs in Glengarry Glen Ross. No more commentary, no more thoughts. Behold, for the first installment of “Row Three’s Movie Speech Series,” the greatness that is Alec “Fuck you!” Baldwin:

I just watched this film again a few weeks ago and it still amazes me every single time. This is a fantastic scene – "coffee's for closers" – that just sets the tone for the rest of the film. And I don't think I can think of a better ensemble cast; Lemmon, Harris, Pacino, Baldwin, Pryce, Arkin, Spacey– forget about it!:P

That movie alone could fill up a few slots in your feature. 🙂 I love Pacino's rant as well. Good stuff.

Yes, cinexcellence, Pacino's rants are amazing in that movie. — "You fucking child." And a great use of the C word:)

That's the thing I love about Pacino. He can make 'asshole' sound better than 'fuck'.
