Terminator Salvation Comic-Con Panel Video
Written By: Marina Antunes
I‘ve talked at length at the possibility that maybe, just maybe, the upcoming Terminator Salvation will not only be good, but perhaps manage to restart the franchise. Then I got a little excited about the teaser trailer and now, the folks at IFC have edited together a good chunk of the panel discussion from SDCC. It’s an interesting watch and I’m particularly impressed by Anton Yelchin’s serious approach to the material and how well McG works the room. This guy is a charmer.
Thanks to /Film for the linkage.

That being said, I remain unconvinced that despite McG being a ‘charmer’ as Marina puts it that he will be focused enough to break from his Charlie’s Angels slap-dash filmmaking style. I’m going by prior evidence over public speaking skills.
It sounds like they are paying more attention to the hardware specifications than the story (or perhaps this was because they didn’t want to talk about this on the panel. Hiring J.Nolan as the screenwriter sounds great, but keep in mind that it was BOTH Nolan’s behind Memento, TDK and The Prestige. Don’t know how well things will come together without that team. None of the actors in this movie seem overly compelling, and I’m predicting we are going to get something more along the lines of PITCH BLACK over ALIENS.

I think he´s smart enough to understand that the style he’s known for does not fit in a film like this.

I remain skeptical.

I offer exhibit A and he did no favours for Batman Begins, he was pretty limp there. At least in the Dark Knight, he’s figured out how to make a compellingly shallow Bruce Wayne, but he’s pretty lifeless in BB.
And don’t get Henrik started on “The Bale Whisper”

But you never know, they might throw something in the end as a joke.
