Darren Aronofsky’s Robocop confirmed

I‘m still struggling with the fact that Darren Aronofsky has committed to direct a remake/reboot/whatever of Robocop for MGM. The project is being fast-tracked for a 2010 release date (due to the success of Ironman, perhaps?)

ScreenDaily has confirmed this former rumour.

While Row Three has a love of Robocop (Finite Focus) and all things Paul Verhoeven, and Darren Aronofsky usually makes visually snappy and interesting films, I can’t say that I’m thrilled about this project. Time will tell what approach they will take to the material.
