Trailer for Ghostbusters: The Video Game

by Jonathan B.
July 22nd, 2008

I haven’t been much into video gaming the last few years (the last game I played through was the amazing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion back in early 2006), yet every once in a while a game gets put into production that almost convinces me to get back into the (very time-consuming and addicting) habit.

One of those that I’ve been keeping my eye on is Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Generally, I wouldn’t give it much more than a passing glance - and that would have been the case for this until it was announced last year that it would be an all new Ghostbusters story written by original creators Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and would bring back all of the original ‘busters as voice actors - even the freaking impossible Bill Murray!

This trailer that has been released doesn’t really show a whole lot from the video game, but I can still see myself getting a copy of this to play through on one of my friends’ Xboxs just so I can have some more Ghostbusters goodness in my life, even if the game only receives mediocre reviews.

This video game route is a much better alternative than another live-action or CGI sequel in my opinion. What do you think?

  1. Definitely better than a live action film. The Ghostbusters don’t need another big-screen product. If they’re all involved in this, that’s good enough for me.

  2. this is a good route. i think clint eastwood is doing the voice for a Dirty Harry movie too. this could become a trend for actors too old to reprise their roles?
