Maybe that’s the reason they couldn’t get some of the Beowulf stuff for Astropia. But I think in the end they managed to get some.

Yes, they did. Thanks for bringing that up, AD. Debra said most of the items reused were belts and baldrics from Beowuld & Grendel. I recall that we made a total of around 80 belts for that film. To help change the look for Outlander we crafted a slightly different style of Lammellar, lots of differently styled pauldrons, large belts and our simpler style breastplates.

A lot of the costumes worn by extras in Outlander were leftovers from Beowulf & Grendel actually. All the main character’s stuff is new but it saved them a considerable amount being able to reuse some stuff.

We worked with Debra Hanson on the costuming for this film, handcrafting all the leather scale armour worn by Jack Huston and John Hurt along with many other pieces shown on our website at http://schmitthenner.com/Outlander.htm
Debra has been wonderful to work with both on this project and “Beowulf & Grendel”. I sure hope that this gets better merchandising so that we have a decent chance to see it theaters. With talent like John Caveziel, Ron Perlman, Sophia Myles and John Hurt, this one cannot be passed over! The trailers look awesome!

@Agent Orange – (I fixed your typo), You are the first person I’m aware of out there that has actually seen Star Knight. I owned it on VHS in the 1980s and used to put it on to demonstrate how to make such cool concept boring!

heh. A comment from Agent Orange from Quiet earth, where he loved the fact that it is "Jesus vs. Hellboy" made me giggle The trailer didn’t totally ‘do it for me’ (reminded me a bit of Trancers 4: Jack of Swords ("en garde mutherfucker!") or even more, of -- Star Knight -- Judas vs. Aguirre—spring a little mind. Ouch.) If they can get this in the cinema though, I’m more than happy to pay. Sad to see John Hurt still slumming it though, been rather disappointed with his film choices as of late, but if Outlander kicks ass, then some is forgiven.

Kind of reminds me of Brotherhood of the Wolf with super effects and bigger cast. Which is not a bad thing at all! If you see a release date, be sure to let us know.
