Trailer for Aja’s Mirrors

June 13th, 2008

The trailer for Alexandre Aja’s Mirrors came out a short while ago. I haven’t seen the original Korean horror film. This remake stars Kiefer Sutherlan and it looks sufficiently creep to have me interested. I’ve never seen the original. Does anyone know if it something I should be looking for or not. I somewhat burned myself out on Asian Horror and I only try to catch the really good ones now.

  1. I haven’t seen the original Into the Mirrors, but I did see the film that the same writer, Kim Sung-ho wrote next, Black House. That film was quite creepy and disturbing.

  2. I’ve been jokingly telling people my own idea for a horror movie, based off of the dumbest concept I could think of. It’s called Muskee, and it will be awesome.

That being said, Aja has totally trumped my dumbest idea for a horror movie ever with Mirrors. I’m sure the originally is sufficiently creepy, but I havezero faith in Aja making anything but a stylized mess of a film.

  3. Matt: I think the Koreans have already beaten you to it with “Wig” or perhaps Sion Sono’s “Exte: Hair Extension”

Death by Hair is kinda funny. Sort of like a Van Halen concert circa 1985.

  4. Peter: Been wanting to see BLACK HOUSE for a while. There seems to be lots of regard for that movie from people I talk to.

  5. Yeah, I watched The Wig earlier this week. Utterly ridiculous concept, yet the film treats it with far more respect then it deserves. I swear Korea could make a film on killer nail clippings (title is Spider Claws!) creepy.
