• Boy A Trailer

It sure is amazing what music can do for a trailer. The first time I watched this one I was stunned with how strong the story looks. Upon a second viewing just before I posted this up I realized that it was the music that got to me but I still like the look of the Boy A. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to have to wait for this one to hit DVD before seeing it which is always annoying. Is it just me or does the story look interesting to you. I know its been done before but this trailer really has caught my attention.

ya – it does kinda look like something I saw before but not really sure what. But it does look good. Also props to this site for putting up higher quality trailers more often than not instead of the usual YouTube – lower quality- stuff everywhere else.

Having the great Peter Mullan in there is always a plus. That does look like a very watchable film though. Gorgeously shot, interesting story, funny that this is the first I’ve heard of it at this point.

The Weinstein company has a real issue with getting publicity out there.

  3. It’s an amazing film, above and beyond the norm by far. Andrew Garfield’s performance is fantastic. I hope it gets out there and people get to see it.

Where did you catch it Shannon?

  5. Marina Antunes says:

Agreed, that looks fantastic. I particularly love the opening shot of the trailer with the boy’s feet dangling just above the ground – a perfect way to mark age without spelling it out. Very nice.

  6. I saw this at TIFF last year, and I second Shannon’s opinion. It’s a really amazing film. I went in not knowing much about the plot, and it has a slowish start, but once you figure out what’s going on (or if you’re smarter than me and you do your research beforehand :P ), it’s intense and beautiful and Garfield is an amazing talent I want to see more of!

This is an example of when the UK gets it’s movie-going revenge on the US and Canada:P:) This movie premiered on TV over here back in November last year (and I have it recorded) and I was very surprised to see the trailer pop up online and that it was being released in theatres internationally. I didn”t really give it any notice when I heard the name, and when it was avdertised on TV, but now that I know it’s an important film that’s being released elsewhere I will give it a watch.

Btw has anyone seen Mean Creek? If so do you remember the head member of the gang, the slightly older guy? Do you not think he looks remarkably like Andrew Garfield? Here are links images of both actors, tell me if you think they look similar or not:

I love Mean Creek. It has amazing performances and they are all by kids. Its not a movie I want to watch over and over again but it sure was an experience when I did watch it.

  10. John, I saw this film at TIFF 07 at some ungodly hour like 9am on a Sunday. It’s one of the few films I’ve seen that I would hands down recommend to people without a second though. And sight unseen too, I wouldn’t even say to watch the trailer but too late for that!

I hope people do get to see it, looks promising there will be a release. It’s on the apple trailer site now too.

Does anyone know what the music at the end of BOY A trailer is from?

  12. james says:

Hey does any one know the music in the trailer…i really love that music. If anyone knws about it..lemme knw….thanks.

James – I’m not 100% sure and I can’t seem to find anything on-line but someone else suggested it sounded like Howard Shore from the LotR soundtrack though to be honest…it doesn’t sound all that familiar.
