Haven’t read the book, don’t know anything about the story but I do know this comes from the same guy that wrote Fight Club. How do I know that you ask? It’s on the poster.
Can’t say I’m all that impressed though I do love the colours, but I think Andrew likes this one – just a hunch.
For your viewing pleasure, via the folks at Worst Previews, the poster for Clark Gregg’s adaptation of Choke starring the fabulous Sam Rockwell.

This played at SPIFF – I think Gamble saw it. and liked it.
I like the poster (not ALOT, but I like it). It reminds me of an opening sequence from a James Bond movie or something.

My review

Read the book. Loved every strange page.
Saw the one sheet. Loved every pink inch.
Can’t wait to see this movie. I love Sam Rockwell.
re: Kurt’s comment – yeah this poster is a total ripoff of the i’m not there poster i mean look at how they did that thing where they have just the side of the human head outlined i’m not there originated that and anyone else is just ripping it off
i managed to catch the movie down in Austin for the SXSW festival. it’s hilarious, debased and incredibly left-field. compared to Fight Club (the film. i would only assume the book as well), Choke is a straight-up comedy with heaping doses of Palahniuk’s trademark perversions and obsession with irony. i still can’t say if i actually liked it or not, but it had enough personality to intrigue me.
to tangent a bit, Choke did lead to the best conversation-with-strangers encounter i had that week. i had a nice little walk and talk with this beautiful California girl named Danielle on my way to the Alamo Drafthouse (man, i miss Austin). she read the book and didn’t care for it or the film.
Choke is kinda like Funny Games. The book is out to offend (and offend via deconstruction of what is offensive) at every possible level during every possible opportunity.
Primary reason for me wanting to see this is the casting of the two female leads: Kelly MacDonald and Anjelica Huston.
(Have to admit that Gillian Jacobs certainly isn’t hard on the eyes. And Rockwell always, well, Rocks!)
Rockwell was PERFECT for this role. and Kurt, your “offend via deconstruction of what is offensive” synopsis of the book definitely carries over to the film. that’s almost precisely the vibe i got, though i didn’t quite know how to articulate it.
Two videos of director Clark Gregg talking about “Choke”:
