  1. I’ll refrain, this TIME, from giving it away.

  3. I HATED this movie (if it’s what I’m thinking it is) - Cronos?

  5. Good Show Ross. It’s a pretty Iconic image from Guillermo del Toro’s debut film. What was offputting for you?

It’s been a little while since last I say it, but I liked the highly unusual take on Vampirism/immortality-at-a-price, the unconventional story telling, acting and visual aesthetic. I’d say for genre cinema it was somewhat of a revelation back in 1993. Certainly a fine entry into del Toro’s Ouevre.

I also very much was creeped out by Luppi arising from the morgue, certainly a very non-typical way to integrate a morgue into the film.

Perlemen is very fun to watch in this one…

  6. I just found it so damn boring. I usually don’t hold that too much against a film if the rest is really good but in this case I do. There’s some nice set and costume design, and some creepy moments, but I was very dissapointed with it. Perhaps it had something to do with seeing Pan’s Labyrinth beforehand, too.

  7. I really enjoyed Cronos. It wasn’t what I expected but it had a great atmosphere and I loved the twist on vampires and evil. I can understand where your coming from Ross but its also important to remember that Cronos is Del Toro’s first movie and it was filmed for 2 Million dollars. Pearlman even took a pay cut while filming because the movie had gone over budget.
