Coco Chanel Poster
First look at the marketing poster for the upcoming biopic on famous designer, Gabrielle Chanel (Coco). While I’m not a big fan of the traditional biopics, I always look forward to another French film featuring the lovely Tautou. Setting that aside, if we can get more original work along the lines of Todd Haynes’ I’m Not There which focussed on the legend of Bob Dylan and was one of the best movies of the year, another biopic of a personality that I don’t even have a particular interest in might be a good idea.
But really, this is just an excuse for me to post another picture of Audrey Tautou.
Synopsis courtesy of worstpreviews: In an orphanage, silently standing next to a perfectly made bed, is a frail and slender ten year old girl with thick black hair. Gabrielle Chanel, known as Coco, and her many lives. The story of the path taken by Coco from her obscure beginnings to the blinding lights of Paris.

I really love this poster. I’ll have to do a bit more reading but for some reason, whenever I think of Coco Chanel I immediately think of Anais Nin as well. I may have, at some point, read something in one of Nin’s diaries about Chanel? No idea. It’s a bit of a weird tangent but I’m really curious to see if this is the case because if it is…we’re in for some seriously interesting stuff.
Either way, Tautou looks fantastic and needless to say, I’m looking forward to this.

I agree, Marina. The poster is awesome, and anything with Tautou immediately makes its way to my ‘must-see’ list.

It’s also nice to see that a movie can be sold on pratically nothing but Tatou’s face. Truly a bonafide movie star.
