X-Files set the bar for Lost, but boy did Lost surpass it, from a purely suspense storytelling perspective.

If we're going into faves....I'm a huge fan of the Tooms story and "Squeeze" was a fanfreakintastic episode.

As for funny episodes, I dig "DPO". It was the first time I ever really noticed Giovanni Ribisi.

There was also an episode about buying/selling organs on the Chinese black market. It was also the first time I ever saw Lucy Liu.

@Andrew - There were some really good seasons and Episodes of X-Files.

My favourite was one of the light hearted ones that took place at a carnival.

@John - I loved "Millennium" and if it wasn't for my blind love for Duchovny and the mythology - what bits I could piece together over 7 seasons of The Xfiles, I'd say that yes, all around Millenium is a better, more entertaining show.

@Kurt - Not sure it's unwanted but you're definitely right on the unneeded bit. I really think they waited a little too long between the show ending and this second film but the fanbase is still there and as far as I can tell, pretty solid.

As for irrelevant...I don't agree with that. The show was pretty ground breaking when it hit the airwaves. Sure, it might seem oldschool with the current crop of TV but I think that's more of a reason to bring attention to the series again now.

Duchovny. 'Nuff said. I'm in. Despite not being much of an X-files fan. Never have I seen one episode (other than the movie).

Wow, Im sounding more bitter ever day. But doesn't XFiles2 fall squarely in the 'unwanted, unneeded, irrelevent' bin? I'm surprised they even raise the capital for this one.

All that being said, I do like Billy Connolley in a serious role.

Speaking of Carter, I just picked up the 3 seasons of Millennium. I watched a few episodes a while ago while it was on Scream and I actually prefer it over X-Files.

YEY!

Obviously I'm pretty excited not to mention, I'm intrigued to see what on earth they're looking for in the bloody snow - I wonder if it's the black oil thing? Can't recall off the top of my head if that had some sort of alien connection...

I'm a fan of the show and I held in there until the 7th season at which point I lost interest but I'm really looking forward to seeing Carter's return and thankfully, it looks like he's sticking to form. Not counting down the days yet but definitely getting excited!
