It looks like it is trailer day today. We’ve got the first trailer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Over the weekend my 5 year old and I watched the first volume of the cartoon Clone Wars and I’m really glad this one looks like it will have more plot and will not feel so segmented. I guess it could not really be helped with the cartoon one since each episode was only 12 minutes. Oh, here is also hoping that Lucas doesn’t feel the need to ruin this with terrible dialogue and a shitty story (not that I’m still bitter about how he my childhood memories with the prequels).

I wasn’t all that keen on seeing any more SW on the big screen and that trailer does very little for me other than solidify the fact that that’s one of William’s best scores ever but watching this on the big screen with a bunch of little kiddies and my big kid – the energy in the room rubbed off – for about five minutes.
Not convinced I’ll be inclined to spend money on this but it does look cool – in a tv show sort of way.
Yie, that looks like 10 degrees of awful…looks like more digitally overproduced belches and farts from lucasfilm. Swathes of fan films over at TheForce.net look better than this
At first – not interested. As the trailer wore on, the music got to me and the fact that they use the real actors voices (Sam Jackson, Oz, Hayden, Daniels – didn’t hear a Ewan McGregor) helps. Looks like more Star Wars for those of us who can’t get enough. It just happens to be animated.
I liked the animated series on Toon network a few years back. I love the Star Wars universe and the stories and adventures that can be told are endless. Not hugely looking forward to this, but I think it’ll be fun and worth seeing for SW nerds like me.
I think “belches and farts” is criticizing it a bit too harshly.
My problem is that to me the animation just doesn’t look that good. Maybe it was because I saw it on the big screen yesterday, but it didn’t look much better than most computer games.
