  1. Is that a rejected “WANTED” poster, or is it supposed to remind the audience of Ghost Rider to get them into the cinema?

  2. “is it supposed to remind the audience of Ghost Rider to get them into the cinema?”

  4. Cage is reaching into his pocket to find his big Ghost Rider paycheck to show off to the guy he’s about to kill:P “Look - I’m better than you! [bang]“

  5. Ha ha ha. Good one Ross.
I have a extreme sense of deja vu when I look at this poster. Where have I seen it before?

  6. Swarez, you might be thinking Fast and the Furious, it’s the poster I thought of. Anyway, after Next (bad), Ghost Rider (worse), and The Wicker Man (amnesia on command would be a neat trick to learn, wouldn’t it?), I feel confident that any upcoming Cage movies can be dismissed out-of-hand.

  7. Looks like a poster you’d see on a billboard in the background of “Get Shorty” or something.

Also, get it? Holy? Shit? Get it? Hahaha I crack myself up.

    Yes. Yes it would.

  9. What sucks about Cage is that when he’s not busy selling out, he puts out some really great stuff (’The Weather Man’, ‘Lord of War’, ‘Matchstick Men’, ‘Adaptation’). It’s just the crap that he throws out there when he sells out is SO bad that it makes you forget that he can really act.

  10. There are those who would argue than even in the absolute junk, Cage is still quite watchable. The Wickerman remake is well on its way to becoming a cult-oddity.

  11. “NOT THE BEES!”

  12. Yeah, I have a soft spot for Cage and though I haven’t seen The Wicker Man, I’ve mildly enjoyed some of his other bombs. Something about him is oddly appealing - maybe it’s the way he doesn’t seem to take any of those crap roles particularly seriously. Watching “Next” for a second time, I’m almost sure he was playing the whole thing up tongue in cheek.

  13. I’m surprised Row Three is saying such nice things about an admitted fanboy. It’s such a dirty word around these parts. ;)

  14. Admittedly there is a bit of Begbie from trainspotting to my outting of fanboys here, drop the beer mug and get on with it. :)

    I’m usually a nicer guy.

  16. Wanna hear a minor random Nicholas Cage anecdote?

About 12 years ago a buddy of mine worked at an Infinity dealership here in LA. One morning Nichola Cage calls him and wants to buy two brand new cars sight unseen because he had just watched an Infinity commercial. My buddy is thinking “sweet.. easiest sale ever” until the next day when Cage’s manager calls and explains that “Nick” had been up all night partying the day before and had mistakenly called the dealership on an impulse. So no sale :(

My buddy said Cage did sound a little wigged out on the phone, but hey it’s not like stars aren’t known for doing random weird shit like that. What cracked me up about the story is that he wanted not one, but two cars !?

  18. Ha ha. My dad always said, ‘If you’re going to do something, make sure you do it right.’

  19. Ha, I’d forgotten about the “HOWDAGETBURNED?!?!”, oh, I’d laugh if not for the tears. For a second, I thought he was going to stop taking her “I forget, um, everything.” crap. Alas. Not to be.

  20. Why do they mask out the gun he’s obviously is supposed to be holding? Is showing guns on posters in the US a big no no?

    Comment by swarez — May 9, 2008 @ 5:50 am

  21. And when you really start to look at it, his hand is very awkward and most of all HUGE.
