I really have to figure out a way to easily reply to non-work emails while at work but since I can’t I’m going to let you all in on a new movie site that Jonathan just found that is easily one of the best sites out there for keeping up to date on the latest going’s on in the movie world. There are some great reviews, news about an upcoming Resevoir Dogs sequel and even an early poster of some character designs for Transformers 2.
When your done reading here at Row Three be sure to check out Vern’s Cinematic Movie Blog.

That site is damn, DAMN funny. Funny because it’s true. Even if the truth stings a bit.
All humour aside, Vern is one of the most entertaining reviewers/critics/whathave-yous out there. Elegant in his profanity, and more often than not, spot on. I may not always agree, but I usually read his take on things. On the geocities site, not the blog, natch.
Love the sidebar’s “categories” section. Good stuff.
Anyone notice a similarity to another site with the Pulp Fiction review?
Wow I totally missed this post. I’m glad to see y’all love Vern as much as I do. Segalogy (which I just finished, 1st edition) is great, it includes an indispensible review of Lightning Bolt the Steven Segal energy drink. Plus, the looks I get for reading a book called Segalogy in public are absolutely priceless.
Not only are his reviews hilarious but he uses humor in service of really insightful and knowledgeable film criticism. A favorite of mine is his review of I Know Who Killed Me.
I’m pretty sure Vern’s left a few comments over at TMB.
The categories listing, the movie review, the box office prediction and all the advertising is genius.
themovieblog
someone named Vern left a comment. I think it’s him.
Oh yeah, I also think Vern penned the definitive take down of Behind The Mask With Leslie Vernon.
Is that site serious?
Are you?
It’s an April Fools joke, but sadly is not that hard to believe as a serious professional movie web sight.
Only the “blog” part is an april fools joke. The archive is legit.
What archive?
http://geocities.com/outlawvern/
Meh… It’s always dangerous to start reading the archives. The guys reaction to Babel, claiming it is a weaker film than Pans Labyrinth and Children of Men because it is less optimistic, and doesn’t have a clear protagonist, is pathetic.
Well Henrik, I think good criticism is about more than whether or not you agree with someone’s opinion. Vern’s review of A Scanner Darkly drives me crazy. On the other hand his cataloging of the films of badassary is awesome.
He reminds me of Maddox, who coincidentally has a good aprils fools page posted today over at maddox.xmission.com
He’s kind of like Maddox but with something relevant and intelligent to say.
His love of Nicolas Cage is admirable. His review of The Wicker Man is brilliance.
Yea, I’ll take Vern over Maddox any minute of any day. Maddox’s april fools thing is obvious and lame, Vern’s is actually quite inspired (it certainly stung at least one of the Cinematical readers, so he must be doing something right), as are many of this reviews…indeed on the WickerMan….
Yeah I agree Maddox’s thing this year was pretty tame, but his previous ones have been great. The Titanic conspiracy and the Terry Schiavo ones are good, and the Mr. Clean one is alright, but the response-article makes it amazing.
It’s been a pleasure visiting this blog. It’s really a full time time pass. and very humorous.
Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog.
Cheers! Sandra. R.
