BlueCat Screenwriting Competition: Your Script Reviewed
An apology for bringing these news so close to the deadline but as they say, better late than never.
The latests installment of Scene Unseen featured an interview with Gordy Hoffman, the founder of the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.
The BlueCat Screenplay Competition has been around for ten years and listening to Hoffman discuss his passion for the project was a real treat not to mention, the service he offers is unlike any you’re likely to find in any other competition of this sort. For the nominal submission fee of $60, every scrip will get a 600 word analysis from one of the script readers (so even if you don’t win, you will find out if that screen play you’ve been working on for 10 years is worthy of leaving your day job for). In addition, competition prizes include $10,000 for the best screenplay and four finalists will also walk away with $1,500. If that’s not good enough, you may also want to keep in mind that BlueCat has continued to work with previous winners and some of them have gone on to sell other scripts.
So, dust off that draft which is sitting in your closet, clean it up over the weekend and get it ready for submission. The deadline is Tuesday, April 1st at midnight. If your not ready to take the big step, be sure to bookmark this and start prepping for next year’s competition!
All of the fine print entry details can be found at BlueCat.
