Audrey Tautou in Priceless Trailer

Priceless Movie Poster (UK)I take it back.

During the March preview I’d mentioned that I had no interested in the upcoming romantic comedy Priceless starring the wonderful Audrey Tautou. Maybe it’s because I’d only seen the French version of the trailer because after seeing this English trailer, I’m ready for a trip to the cinema.

Tautou plays a gold digger who falls for a young guy she mistakes for a millionaire. He goes broke trying to keep her at the lifestyle she’s become accustomed to but when his bank account runs dry, he in turn starts taking advantage of a rich woman. Yes it’s contrived and the same old romantic comedy we’re used to but it’s French and stars Tautou so at the very least, it’ll be a tad bit fresh. Or so I hope.

Priceless opens in limited release on March 28.

  1. Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Well, I have to say that they hit the perfect casting with Tatou. Heck, Amelie had a Tiffany’s vibe to it…

  3. I’ve always like Tautou. She’s simply divine to quote the parlaince of our times. Well, as I said on your podcast comments, I have never seen her looking like this.

The movie looks fun, but not as fun as Tautou. She is STUNNING looking in this trailer. The scene in the elevator with the low-back cocktail gown and the tightness around her a…. I better stop now or I’ll have to rush home from work to take a cold shower. But damn does she look like an angel in this.

    and those eyes? mmmmmmm…

  5. Oops. I spoke too soon. I thought I’d seen this trailer. They’re showing the French trailer in our cinemas in Minnepolis and that one is much better.

I’m surprised you like this one better. The voice over is grating - along with that music it makes it look like a cheeseball comedy. The other one is a bit more sophisticated and edited much better.

Either way though, we’re of like minds; this looks like a fun movie.

Did I mention Tautou is UBER-hot?

If I learned one thing from “Road Trip”: France and Spain - different countries - it doesn’t count as cheating.

  8. I fell madly in love with her after seeing A Very Long Engagement, Amelie, and Dirty Pretty Things. She’s adorable.

  10. Dirty Pretty Things should get more credit. That is a seriously underrated gem, and (more or less) launched Chiwetel Ejiofor’s career.

Not to mention a stellar international supporting cast including Sergei Lopez (villian from Pan’s Labyrinth), Sophie Okonedo (Don Cheadle’s wife in Hotel Rwanda), and a personal favorite, Zlatko Buric (Milo from the PUSHER trilogy).

I’ve seen this film about half a dozen times and it’s riveting.

  11. Fan’s of Audrey Tatou are highly encourage to check out “A La Folie, Pas Du Tout” (aka He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not).

It’s Amelie meets Rashomon meets Audition. It’s a nasty piece of work with Tatou intentionally cast against type.

  12. Just added to the queue. I’ve come close to renting that so many times while at the video store (which I haven’t stepped foot in for months) but always ended up putting it back. I moved it near the top of my queue though now. Thanks.

I LIKE that this is becoming an Audrey image gallery thread…
