Alright, these are just plain cool. Vanity Fair had a recent photoshoot with some of today’s most popular stars where they recreated classic scenes from some of Alfred Hitchcock’s most iconic films. They’re all pretty awesome, but my favorites have to be Seth Rogen in North by Northwest, Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. in To Catch a Thief, and Scarlett Johansson and Javier Bardem in Rear Window. The others include Keira Knightley and Jennifer Jason Leigh in Rebecca, Emile Hirsch and James McAvoy in Strangers on a Train, Charlize Theron in Dial M For Murder, Naomi Watts in Marnie, Rene Zellweger in Vertigo, Jodie Foster in The Birds, and lastly Tang Wei, Josh Brolin, Casey Affleck, Eva Marie Saint, Ben Foster, Omar Metwally and Julie Christie in Lifeboat. This has to be one of the coolest photoshoots I’ve ever seen.

I’ve posted them all below, JUST CLICK ANY IMAGE if you’re looking for some big enough to use as wallpaper – and you can see the original post over at /Film.

  1. Wow. Those ARE fantastic. And wow, Naomi Watts and Rene Zellwege are nearly unrecognizable!

  4. I LOVE the Lifeboat one. Some of my favorite actors from the past year. And I SWEAR that is Tim Roth in the background with the spotlight; even though he’s not listed in the credits.

  5. Oh sweet lord. Even better! Now I’ll have to set these up as rotating screen savers…until something better comes along! ;)

  6. Those are absolutely AWESOME

  7. Scarlett Johansson is acceptable as Grace Kelly, but Seth Rogen is nowhere near acceptable as Cary Grant.

  11. These are wonderful.
But I have just one question: Why is Jodie Foster a star? She’s an awful actress; she’s hideous; and sh smells like an thirteen day old dirty diaper..

  12. Jodie Foster was really good in Taxi Driver. after that, annoying

  13. seriously? vanity fair releases one of the most original homages to Hitchcock, artfully portraying his masterpieces using today’s biggest stars without giving them more than an ounce of publicity and people are going to say that jodie foster smells like a 13 day old dirty diaper?

    come on. that’s so unnecessary.

  20. Free publicity ? They don’t need it. Free vanity more like, trying to attain some iconic status they know never will.
I object to the comments on Jodie Foster simply because I doubt the writer has got close enough to her to smell her, and she plays a miserable, downtrodden dried-up old sec adequately. I suspect homophobia. She has plenty of money to buy any number of babies so the diaper smell could be justified.

  24. I don’t think Photoshop had anything to do with it – besides maybe some slight brushing.
