Reynolds and Mortimer in Chaos Theory Trailer
Chaos theory refers to the apparently chaotic behavior of systems within a deterministic, or organized, system. In simple terms, it’s basically when things happen and spiral out of control within a highly controlled environment. Rather surprisingly, considering the often misleading titles, Chaos Theory follows these basic parameters.
Ryan Reynolds plays a absurdly organized guy married to Emily Mortimer who is a bit more laid back, but when he misses the ferry to work one morning, things start to spiral out of control. The film also stars Stuart Townsend as Reynolds’ best friend and the guy who takes on the challenge of getting Reynolds back on track.
Again, I have issues with the trailer voice guy but beyond that, I like this trailer. Emily Mortimer is an actress I like and Stuart Townsend has been good in a few roles in the past but the big seller for me is Ryan Reynolds. The guy has been working hard over the last few years and I’ve come to really like him in these darkly comedic roles and he seems to be on the ball here. I wish folks with give him more of a chance because he’s more than just a pretty face. We talk about Clooney jumping from mainstream to indie and though I’m not suggesting Reynolds shares the same talent (it’s too early to tell), but he’s shown that he’s not afraid to try something off the beaten path, like The Nines (our review).
I’m on board. Unfortunately, there’s very little information on the film’s official website, and lacking is the release date so it may be a little while before (and if) this opens but it’s something to look forward to.
