• Been Sitting at my Desk too Long

Okay, perhaps I’m just going a bit loopy because I’ve been sitting at my desk reinstalling everything on my computer but for some reason I just love the following ad that I’ve now seen about 20 times in front of various movies.

Oh and btw, I heard that it took a few takes to get the gorilla to play the drums well enough. Here is their third take. Personally I think they should have gone with it.

I think its time for bed.

Have to admit, I found that Gorilla commercial pretty darn good the first time I saw it. That’s a real rarity when it comes to Commercials at the Cinema. Not that I want the darn things there or anything, but it’s always nice to get a bit of added entertainment when things work out.

I’m with Kurt. When I first saw that floating around the web I commented to someone that if movie commercials where like this one, I’d be happy to sit through them and a few weeks later, I see it in front of “No Country for Old Men”. A pleasant surprise indeed.

And that second video is pretty funny.

  3. It’s been on British television for some time, and it’s a corker. I have no idea how they are going to follow it up, and it’s just so off wall too.

I was reading an interview with the guy in the suit, and he makes his living impersonating Gorilla’s and such…what a life?!

Pretty funny. I’ve never seen this. Must be a canada thing. I heard we get the new Batman trailer in front of Kurt’s new favorite movie. I look forward to that tonight.

I frigging LOVE this commerical! I first saw it in front of Lars and the Real Girl, on a double feature night right after I had sat through the insufferable Margot at the Wedding. Made my night. I’m a closet Phil Collins fan, I can totally appreciate the cheese factor in this.

  6. Don’t get your hopes up too much Andrew. My understanding is that the Dark Knight stuff is only attached to the IMAX screenings. I’m not 100% on that but that’s what I understood.

  7. Jonathan says:

Nope, The Dark Knight trailer was attached to my non-IMAX screening.

I saw the Dark Knight trailer in front of I Am Legend. The world “Underwhelming” comes to mind.

Although I’m one of the few people know that didn’t think much of the last one either. So take that as you will..

@Kurt – “I saw the Dark Knight trailer in front of I Am Legend. The world “Underwhelming” comes to mind.”

This comment is exhibit A in my case against the new trend of releasing movies in increments. Even if I choose not to watch the first five minutes of a movie that will be released next year I still can’t avoid the naysaying and gossip.

The movie is six months away from release and already it’s a dissappointment. You’re not a fan of the original and that’s fine, but just let us have this one.

I rather enjoyed the first two acts of the Dark Knight Returns. It did a solid job of recreating the Frank Miller feel of the comics, but the last act was an absolute disaster. They might as well have had Batman riding around on his giant penny as he saved Gotham from certain doom.

Batman trailer was NOT before my screening of I am Legend. Have to admit a little disappointed there, but I saw the bootleg copy online. Heath Ledger looks like he’ll play the part well. Oldman and Bale are back, the Batbike looks groovy. They’ve got my ten bucks for sure.
