We in the third row, make it our credo to sort of avoid the big budget, special effects movies that lack any true depth. Sometimes however, we can’t help but excited about certain things… or at least I do. Case in point, one of the movies that I’m realy looking forward to this holiday season is I Am Legend. Apocalypic stuff is most definitely on my favorite genre list. Big budget, well done, apocalyptic stuff is even better. The marketing thus far has intrigued and impressed me and today I’m even more impressed.
Up until now, we’ve known Will Smith’s character is all alone in New York City and it appears no one is left… except for some blood thirsty vampires. All of the marketing has revolved around NYC. Well I found some banners today that broaden the scope of the apocalyptic devastation. Each banner showing images of various cities aorund the globe. Damn cool.

Oi. Poor Kurt. Someone pass him a tissue.
I think those poster looks great. I dig.
I wonder how well I’ll like this film. Not much of a fan in the Smith-sci-fi-personality. For some reason I really, really love the Charlton Heston version and I’ve got a real soft-spot for low-budget Night of the Comet which draws strongly from the source material.
I do look forward to getting my grubby little hands on the Vincent Price one, which I’ve never seen.
Yes, the movie club this month shoul be fun. I also really like Night of the Comet (the Heston one is good up until the point where he meets the other people).
The creepy, “alone” aspect of these films is what I like. So hopefully it will stick with that and keep Smith on his own. If he runs into a huge military convoy or something, I’ll start to lose patience (i.e. 28 Days Later).
I just realized that they have on for Lisbon. Oh my. That’s really cool. My parent’s will dig that.
Plus the marketing department for this movie thought, “what would be the best color scheme so the pictures look nice at RowThree.com?”
The posters may look cool, but I totally hate what they are doing with this movie. I love the original novella and to turn it into a Wil Smith action vehicle just pisses me off. All I see when I look at anything for this movie is another I, Robot.
Gotta say, that’s pretty cool. I like it…it’s like a mini-geography lesson.
I only wish they had included a shot of Ottawa in ruins. I wouls make that my wallpaper for sure.
wow… The Reykjavík one is creepy, I live there. I’ve walked that road many times.
